Pallet handling systems
Pallets (product carriers) are used to carry products with unfavourable geometry and minimize the risk for damage of sensitive and fragile products. Pallet sizes from 100x100 mm up to 640x640 mm. Functions to stop, divert, merge, elevate, lift and control (RFID) together with our range of linear units, frameworks and enclosures, ensure efficient, high quality installations and systems.
Pallet handling system XL is designed for light loads up to 3 kg. The system is suitable for a wide range of applications within different segments. The maximum size of the products on the pallets depends on the shape of the products and the location of their centre of gravity.
Examples of application areas are transport and assembly of spark plugs, gear wheels, fuel injectors, hydraulic pistons, head lights, brake cylinders, cell phones and hard disk drives.
The XL pallet system includes a special flanged guide rail which prevents pallets from climbing when accumulated. Guide rail brackets specifically designed for the pallet track width are available. The system also includes pre-bent guide rails for bends.

Products up to 10 kg
Single track XM (150x120 to 150x250 pallets)
Pallet handling system XM is designed for medium loads up to 8 kg. The system is suitable for a wide range of applications within different segments. The maximum size of the products on the pallets depends on the shape of the products and the location of their centre of gravity.

Single track X85 (160x100 to 160x225 pallets)
The new X85 pallet system is a complete system for handling of individual products on pallets. An automated system is built on configurable standard modules.
Standard modules makes it very easy and fast to create simple as well as advanced layouts for routing, balancing, buffering and positioning of pallets. RFID identification in the pallets enables one piece track-and-trace and logistic control for the production line.
A standard line cabinet with power bus and communication bus systems provides fast installation and high flexibility for future changes.
The pallet handling system XK satisfies the demands for a sturdy pallet conveyor for medium to heavy loads in demanding environments. Heavy-duty conveyor beams, sturdy product carriers (pallets), and a strong chain permit item weights up to 30 kg. Robust side support components permit accumulation for up to 200 kg per stop device, even in wheel bends. The XK pallet system also includes components for construction of 45 and 90 degree diverters and merge devices, complete with drip pan kits.
Examples of application areas are transport and assembly of pistons, water taps, connecting rods, ball and roller bearings, gear wheels, crank shafts, and hydraulic pumps.

The XT conveyor is a twin-track, flexible plastic chain pallet conveyor. The XT pallet system is especially well suited for manual and automatic assembly and test in the electrical/electronics, medical and automotive industries.
Examples of application areas are assembly and transport of receivers, computers, gear boxes, medical equipment, sewing machines, cell phones, housings, pumps, eyeglasses, automotive seat guiderails, and injection-moulded parts, fishing reels, car instrument kits and air filters.
The XT modular concept allows simplified engineering and ordering, as well as fast configuration together with plug and play capabilities for improved productivity. The standard modules can be split into six groups -- conveyors, transfers, stops, locates, lift-and-rotates and supports. Each module is quickly adaptable and reusable for future demands and can easily be integrated with FlexLink' s large range of single strand pallet conveyor systems.
Devices for pallet conveyors
Pallets
A pallet is a product carrier. Some products cannot travel directly on the conveyor due to shape or other reasons.
Pallets also facilitate creation of workstations for manual or automatic operations on the products. For that purpose the pallets can be firmly located with high precision.
Pallets are used to carry products with geometry unsuitable for travelling directly on the chain. The risk for damage of sensitive and fragile products is minimized and production yield increases. Pallets enable production of different products in the same line at the same time by using the pallet as an independent interface. Pallet sizes available from 100x100 mm up to 640x640 mm.
Pallet stops are used to stop pallets at selected positions along the line. The stops are standard functions with pneumatic stop and steel stop arm, which stops and releases the pallet before a workstation or at a decision point.
Proximity sensors can be attached to the stop using brackets. An initiator plate is attached to the front guide disc of the pallet. The stop is then mounted on the left side of the conveyor. The pneumatic stop includes an integrated spring for stop out if air supply is cut off.
Locating units are components for positioning pallets in preparation for manual or automatc operations such as assembly, machining or testing. The pallet is lifted slightly above the conveyor and the pallet is located on indexing pins. Machine operations often require locating the product at a specific and stable position with high accuracy.
For conveyor system XT and the new X85 system locating modules are delivered complete with conveyor beam, guide rails and guide rail brackets, stops and sensor brackets, for installation into a conveyor line. Supports, sensors and RFID readers are optional.
The unit can be equipped with an escort memory read/write head to enable route reading and support for advanced statistics collection. Applicable to XT, XM and DAS
Pallet end lifter elevator unit
Pallet elevators allow lifting pallets between two different elevation levels. Pallets are fed into the elevator and lifted in steps of 300 mm. The elevator stops every 300 mm so that a new pallet can be fed in at the entry point. At the same time, another pallet is fed out at the output point.
An end lifter elevator operates with low elevation where pallets normally enter and leave on the same side. The pallet elevator can be ordered in various stages of completion, from a pure mechanical module, up to a complete turn-key version.
Technical specifications
Maximum capacity: 15 pallets/min
Lifting speed: 0,15 m/s
End lifter:
Low entry/exit level: 300 mm
High entry/exit level: 900 mm
High lifter:
Low entry/exit level: 900 mm
High entry/exit level: 2500 mm

Pallet tunnel lifter unit
The tunnel lifters are designed for creating an elevated working position which allows other pallets to by pass below, without having to have an additional conveyor and divert mechanisms.
The tunneling function facilitates increased use of line and equipment, allowing for parallel processes.
