Accumulation, storage & retrieval
Accumulation is used for temporary storage of products in a process, for example between machines with different cycle times. Accumulators (buffers) are also needed when downstream machines need to be stopped.
The alpine conveyor differs from the common FlexLink conveyor in the way that the alpine is built in a compact spiral configuration. The common use of the alpine conveyor is as an accumulation/buffer zone between machines. Or, as an in-process step, e.g. for cooling or drying, or simply for elevation and loweration.
If the alpine is used as an accumulator there are two ways of using the alpine: inline or as a bypass. An inline accumulator is always included in the transport path. A bypass accumulator is connected to the transport path when temporary accumulation is necessary.
The automated buffer provides an effective and ergonomic system for product buffering. The rack is typically used as production buffer and in testing and sorting applications. The system can be used for intelligent buffering, balancing of process flow, kitting, test and burn-in solutions or as storage for different items.
The solution organizes production processes and factory facilities with maximum control of the production and is designed to respond quickly and efficiently to rapidly changing production requirements. The rack is a vertically built framework with a built-in fully automated manipulator with loading and unloading functions.
The design and configurability allows cost effective manufacturing, short delivery times and high re-usability. The system meets ESD requirements and is CE safety compliant.
The FIFO buffer is a reliable and efficient buffer with flexible geometry in both length and width which makes the buffer suitable for both square, rectangular and round products. The buffering is possible with bare products or on pucks and capable of a throuput of up to 14000 pieces/hour.
The buffer capacity is huge, from 250 up to 2000 products. The system is suitable for both hygenic and dry applications. This unit is an efficent buffer for in-line and off-line buffering functioning with by-passing when no buffering is required. Controls are included.
The Pick to Light System is an advanced and paperless system for component picking. It provides an effective way to collect parts, components and other material with minimal amount of operator errors. It is typically used in the beginning of a production line to kit pallets with the parts and components needed to assemble the product. In can also be used in the packing area.
Every time a product carrier comes to the picking area the Escort Memory Read/Write system reads the ID number and type of product to be assembled. Picking Control software shows the components to be collected by means of lights on the picking panels.
The picking area can be divided into several workstations with an operator at each station. The picking area can accommodate parts of several different products at the same time. The software can keep account of the contents of the stock and guide to replenish it.
