Press release
FlexLink reinforces its position in electronics and telecom

FlexLink introduces a new product program at the Apex in San Diego, USA, a leading electronics industry trade show. The development of the new products is a result of the company’s strong growth as a supplier of production systems to electronic and telecom equipment manufacturers. FlexLink thereby reinforces its position in these industries.

Through a number of acquisitions, the latest being two American suppliers of automated handling equipment for circuit boards, FlexLink can now offer complete production lines.
The merger of the two acquisitions in the U.S., plus innovative and improved products in combination with an updated program for final assembly and test, provides a stronger offer to manufacturers.

"The new product program is the result of simultaneous and target-oriented development work in FlexLink units in the U.S., Finland and Sweden. Local competence and experience has been utilized in a network, so that the products will meet expected future requirements from manufacturers in the U.S. and Europe during the coming investment period”, says Fredrik Jönsson, CEO, FlexLink AB.

The new products in short:

DAS Lite, which is a further development of pallet-based assembly lines with a high degree of flexibility.

Automation platform, a module to be equipped with an optional robot, complete with robot and pallet-line interfaces.

New generation of modular equipment for PCB handling, designed according to
international standards with integrated control system and software.

FlexLink started in 1980 as a division within SKF, the world's leading bearing manufacturer.
In 1997, the company was acquired by Stockholm based EQT, and is a leading global supplier of innovative automation solutions to assembly and manufacturing industries. FlexLink, based in Göteborg, Sweden, employs 550 people in 20 companies and is represented in 50 countries. Group turnover exceeds SEK 1,2 Bn in 2001.
