The FlexLink office in Shanghai, China has received orders to
supply flexible packaging lines for mobile phones to a global
manufacturer's site in the Shanghai region. Following successful
prototype development and trials in February, four more lines will
be taken into operation later this year. The total order value
exceeds 1.9 million Euro.
The lines are designed as dynamic buffers for the assembled
phones, the peripheral components and the packaging material,
serving the operators. Several types of FlexLink conveyors are
included as well as check weighing and marking equipment. The
prototype development is a joint effort between the customer's
process engineers and the FlexLink team of experts in Shanghai. The
customer chose FlexLink as the supplier after being presented with
an innovative solution developed by local expertise. "This is a breakthrough order for us. We are supplying a large
order to a world-leading company for which we are building a
turnkey installation in China, " says Fredrik Jönsson, CEO,
FlexLink. The new equipment gives an automated material flow in the
packaging process, which leads to major productivity improvements.
Eric Wang, responsible for FlexLink in China adds: "The customer
has bought equipment that gives 100% capacity increase, higher
product quality, a reduced amount of work in process and a clear
process sequence, compared to a standard factory layout." FlexLink started in 1980 and is a leading global supplier of
innovative automation solutions to assembly and manufacturing
