As a part of FlexLink’s web based market communication, an
e-service is now offered via the Internet. The service includes a
set of modules aimed at facilitating the use of automation
equipment in industry. The order online service has attracted
particular response in the USA where 60 % of the order flow for
components is handled via Internet. Early 2002, FlexLink launched the order online service to a
limited number of customers in the USA. The service gives
information about availability for items, pricelists, ordering
service, order acknowledgement, order and delivery status reports
and includes a helpdesk. The service is today included in the FlexLink website, www.flexlink.com and is
generally available. As support for the purchaser, tools for
configuration of conveyors, product catalogues, data sheets,
service instructions and design guidelines are available. As a
result of the response in Europe, German and French language
versions were published recently. "This service is an element in building our vision of "easier
automation" for the parts of our business that do not require
personal advice. In this way, we can build a running customer
relation and we can focus on a general discussion about the
customers’ automation requirements when we meet", says Fredrik
Jönsson, CEO, FlexLink. FlexLink started in 1980 and is a leading global supplier of
innovative automation solutions
to assembly and manufacturing industries. FlexLink, based in
Göteborg, Sweden employs 550 people in 25 companies and is
