Following increased attention on hygiene in the
food and dairy industry, FlexLink launches the second generation of
its modular hygienic conveyor concept. The unique design
establishes new levels of hygiene and productivity in filling and
packaging lines. The new conveyor is a development of FlexLink’s
successful hygienic concept having doubled sales in the past year.
The innovative design features open and self draining surfaces, it
eliminates lubrication and allows for the highest chain conveyor
speeds in the marketplace.
The equipment has been verified by leading international dairy
groups as being crucial for plant efficiency in strictly hygienic
environments. The new design, materials, close tolerances and
speed control make the conveyor lubrication-free, which prevents
contamination of the products conveyed and saves costs for
lubricants and their supply systems. The new chain, combined with
improved conveyor rigidity allows for conveyor speeds up to 100
metres per minute, still maintaining the stability of the products
conveyed. Speed control has been integrated into the drive units,
allowing dynamic buffering and soft start and stop. The stainless steel conveyor is prepared for
easy attachment of an optional automatic Cleaning In Place system,
which reduces consumption of hot water by 50%, detergents by 80%
and increases line uptime by up to 5% by eliminating the industry
standard manual hose-down cleaning procedure. Operator safety and the working environment
will be significantly improved by the conveyor design itself and
the absence of lubricants on the plant floor. The equipment is
fully CE compliant and has been designed in accordance with the
guidelines of the European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group.
The equipment is covered by FlexLink engineering tools and is
available as pre-assembled modules in order to safeguard short
project and lead times. FlexLink is a leading global supplier of
innovative automation solutions to assembly and manufacturing
industries. FlexLink, based in Göteborg, Sweden employs 540 people
in 25 companies and is represented in 50 countries. In 2004, group
turnover was MSEK 1,137. Göteborg, October 20, 2005 FlexLink AB |
